Anyone who has a little boy knows that finding cute Valentine's Day card/treat ideas is a rather difficult task. I refuse to do another year of Pokemon or Transformer Valentines. So, I set out to find Valentines that would not only please me in the cute department, but pass the coolness test of an 8 year old boy.
When I received my February issue of family fun magazine , I was so excited to see all of their amazing Valentine ideas, but one definitely stood out from the rest as a perfect combination of cute and cool. The iLove. They are just so adorable and super easy. We dressed them up a bit more than they did in the magazine, but that's what it's all about. Right?
Start out with Rollo's or peanut butter cups, and conversation hearts or in our case sweettart sweet hearts. You will also need tin foil, tape, colored paper, and yarn or string.
I downloaded the printable iPod menu wheel and display screen that the magazine provided. Next, I laminated them so they would look a little more realistic. (Sorry about the terrible picture, but it was rather late when I was doing this part.)
Some cute craft papers to give the iLoves some pretty skins.
We found some iPod artwork and made some stickers to seal the packages with. What luck, we even found a heart made up of iPods.
Then we assembled the iLove iPods, following the directions provided here.
We then packaged them up in plastic treat bags and sealed them with the iPod stickers.

All in all this was a very easy project for an almost nine year old. I just did the prep work, and then we had a little assembly line going, it went pretty fast. In the end I was a happy mom because the Valentines are cute and creative, and Jake is happy because they look "pretty cool".
I will be posting what we did for Miss Livy's Valentines tomorrow. Xoxo~ Bekah
