Sweet little mushroom hunting Santa along with his “Deer” little friend. I love to look at this little grouping in my kitchen window while I do the dishes.

Day 2~ My morning coffee in my Starbucks Christmas mug. Can you see Santa eyeing my coffee in background.
I hope your Christmas preparations, shopping and decorating are enjoyable. I am off for the weekend in Seattle with my one of my sisters(we’ll miss you Jess!) and my cousins for our annual Christmas girls weekend in the City. Here’s the post from last year.
I’ll be back on Sunday night with Countdown days 3 and 4. Until then have a great weekend!

I am starting the countdown with this little Christmas craft I put together and did with the "Stars", a girl's youth group I help out with at church. The girls are 3rd to 5th graders and so much fun. Last night was craft night and this project seemed almost perfect for this age. If only the glue would dry a little more quickly. The girls were a little impatient so there ended up being quite a a few “re-glues”. I found this project on the family fun website. They always seem to have so many great kid crafts. I have used quite a few of them and loved every single one.
Lets hope I can keep up with this countdown. This is my third year trying. Lets hope the third time is the charm. I would love to actually get through all 25 days. Here’s to hoping.

I haven't been here in a while, things have been so busy since school started. Running every which way with the kids. I did find some time, while watching Jake's football games, to crochet up this adorable owl hat for new niece. She isn't here just yet, hopefully by the end of the week. I can't wait!
Here is the link to the pattern on Ravelry. So fun and so easy. I can't wait to make some more for my daughter and my other nieces.
My youngest sis is having her baby this weekend, and I am beyond excited to meet my new niece. I can't wait to take some sweet little new born pictures.
Have a happy Monday!

I haven’t blogged in what seems like forever. Summertime always brings with it lots of activities with the kids and not much time left for blogging. I have also been trying to attend to some of my other hobbies, all while planning for my youngest sis’s baby shower.
This is a little dress I have been working on for my sister’s little baby. It is one of Alicia Paulson’s crochet patterns, The Mina Dress. It has been such a breeze and so fun to finally see a project to completion(I am so bad about finishing up my projects). I will post the finished product as soon as I get some pictures of it.
I have also been doing some summer reading. I have been flying through The Wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie Stiefvater. They are totally YA(young adult), but still vastly entertaining. I would have been infatuated with these books had they been around when I was in high school. Definitely a lot better than the Flowers in the Attic crap I devoured when I was younger.
Wishing you lazy-hazy summer days.

Last Sunday we spent the day at the horse track. I love going to the races, there is so much to take in, the strength and beauty of the horses, the colorful attire of the jockeys, and the abundance of entertaining people watching, makes it just my cup of tea. Here are some pictures from the day. They are quite horse heavy but I can’t help myself, these creatures are such stunning specimens and I am always in awe of their stunning beauty. The way their muscles move and the massive size of some of these creatures is just breathtaking. I hope you enjoy a peek at our day at the races.
There weren’t too many hats out today. I was happy to see that a couple of people wore them.
Miss Liv
I loved this horses mane. I’m sure it had been in cornrows prior to this curly, frizzy-do.
The number 2 horse over there was one of the most gorgeous horses I have ever laid my eyes on…Absolute stunning power and beauty.
Just look at those muscles moving…AMazing!!!
My husband has one rule at the track-“Never bet on the grey horse”.
I hope you have a blue ribbon day!

Every Tuesday my youngest cousin comes over to our house before and after school. My kids love it so much they have renamed Tuesdays “Carson Tuesday”. One thing I love about “Carson Tuesdays” is the fact that when my kids get out of school we have about 20 minutes before Carson’s school is out. Since his school is just down the road we have time to sit in the car together and just talk about their day at school sometimes Liv has a new book she wants me to read. All that to say, I love these times when I have their full attention.
This week as we sat in the car waiting for Carson to get out of school, I noticed a caterpillar on the hood of my car. The kids just had to check it out of course. I remember when I use to love these things. They aren’t my favorite anymore, but I still love to look at them. They sure are fun to photograph as well.
Livy getting in on the Caterpillar action.
I love this one. Jakes lips and cleft chin make such sweet bokeh.
*No caterpillars were harmed in the making of these images.
Have a happy Wednesday!

I know we are quite a way out of April, but I still had to share these wonderful Easter creations that I received as part of a swap I did before Easter. It’s only the second swap I have participated in and I hope it’s not the last. I can’t tell you how fun it was to open up each of these beautiful packaged treasures. The hard work and talent that went into creating each one of these ornaments is so amazing.
Top row left to right~ adorable spun cotton and paper clay bunny made by, Theresa Whitmore of Sycamore Moon Studios. I love how he looks like he is juggling Easter eggs. Darling Bunny ornament with crepe paper collar made by, Cyndi Lachance of Holiday Sparkle. I just adore his expression and the beautiful hand painting in this treasure. Second row left to right~Gorgeous glittered egg made by, Cheryl Comfort of Artsy Fartsy. I have always loved these eggs with scenes inside them. I just want to jump into this tiny fairyland Cheryl created. Super sweet Easter basket made by, Valarie Kraft of Glitter Daze and Nights. This glittering delight is chock full of sweet details and darling treasures. Last row both ornament made by the host of the swap, Vivian Neroni of Viv’s Whimsy. The embroidered felt egg is just too cute, and Vivian’s handiwork is absolute perfection. She also made the darling needle felted chick popping out of a glittered egg to wish a happy Easter…sooo adorable!!!
Thank you so much Vivian for hosting this swap and including me. Thank you ladies for all of your creativity and hard work. I had so much fun creating for and in turn receiving such beautiful treasures. I know they will be enjoyed by me and my family each and every year as we unpack and hang them on our Easter tree.
I will be posting the ornaments I made for the swap soon!
